Ninth House

Alex Stern is a girl with a difficult past who grew up in Los Angeles, dropped out of school early and found herself in the company of elders, where weed was respected and the bubbler was passed around. And so Alex, the only survivor after a brutal murder, just on her hospital bed got an offer to enter Yale, a prestigious university. But what lies behind this proposal? After all, the university turned out to be a center of secret societies specializing in the occult and magic, and all this is overseen by the mysterious Ninth House. It is the activities of these societies, among the members of which are many very influential people, that Alex was assigned to monitor - her outsider skills and the ability to see ghosts will help her in this. In order to unravel the conspiracy, the history of which dates back more than a hundred years, the girl will have to untangle terrible secrets, balancing between the world of the living and the world of the dead, and observe eerie occult manipulations.

Lee Bardugo is the author of the trilogy about the order of Grisha, which became a bestseller at The New York Times and will be adapted for Netflix. Born in Jerusalem, grew up in Los Angeles. Graduated from Yale University. She was engaged in advertising, journalism, make-up and special effects. Now she lives and writes in Hollywood, where you can sometimes hear her band perform.
